Rarefield
started its ship repair works with a workshop area
of about 25,000 sq.ft inside the Chennai Harbour .
Rarefield undertook and completed repairs for over
4500 Ships. A well qualified work force of 800 direct
and indirect personnel with full fledged workshop
is at the Chennai Port Trust. A team of engineers
visit the ship everyday and attend to all types of
work during the halt of ships at Chennai. In case
of prolonged lay off for extensive steel renewals
in repair berths, our dedicated team works on round
the clock basis under supervision of ship's staff,
class authority and owners of the vessel.

Repair crews on
a 24x7 availability basis equipped to repair the vessels
alongside the berths and outer anchorage. We are the only firm having such facility to attend
to all emergency jobs at the chennai harbour with
certified Welder, steel fabricators, Mill wright &
general fitters and engineers with rich experience
in ship repair industry. |

Fishing Harbour ) |
Raw
acquaintance in repairing and dry docking of various
types of vessels.
The slipway maintenance was commenced in the month
of August in the year 2006, where in during the year
2004 in the month of December a Tsunami struck the
coast and damaged the Fishing Harbour Slipway. A tender
bid floated by the CFHMC handed us the responsibility
to carryout major repairs to the slipway track way,
slopping cradle and including the renovation of the
repair wharf.
Under supervision of a ship repair manager who has
been in the field of the ship repair and dry docking
works for a period of 35 years, all the repairs were
carried out in time and to the satisfactory of the
CFHMC. The slipway was handed over to the CFHMC on
13th Jan 2007. |

From
Jan 2007 the shipyard division had various type of
vessels, such as Coast Guard, Tug Boats and Research
vessels from NIOT undergoing major refits and also
major renovation works till the year 2008 August.

The
most major works carried out was one of Tug Boats
owned by the Chennai Port Trust (Tug Matchless) that
was bought by M/s Kei Rsos Maritime Ltd. The vessel
that was beyond seaworthiness. With the team of expert
supervision and workman ship the vessel was repaired
and brought to a condition of seaworthiness. The division
had worked day and night to achieve all success from
Jan 07 to Aug 08 to complete dry docking and repairs
for the vessels – Pilot Launch Pioneer, ICGS
Naiki Devi, Tug Maju II, ICGS, Rama Devi, Kittur Chennama,
Tug Fouz, Tug Ferrari, Tug Shiva, M.V.Sagar Purvi
and M.T.Basavaraj. |

Visakhapatnam |

Rarefield
went a stretch ahead by venturing out of Chennai to
carry out docking repairs at Visakhapatnam. With sufficient
infrastructure we have registered ourselves at the
Visakhapatnam Port Trust for carrying out Dry Dock
repairs for Sagar Paschimi, ICGS Razia Sultana. |

Royapuram
Training Centre |

Rarefield
carry out test for Welders for 3G, 4G and 6G. Steel
Fabrication and Pipe Fabrication are some of the other
test that is carried out at this centre.
Training centers are fully equipped with machineries
such as Tig Welding, Mig Welding, Lathes, Drilling
and Cutting Machines to enable the workers to do their
training and test.
Our
Training Centre at Royapuram is mainly to train personnel
on steel fabrication and welding to cater to all our
branches in India and abroad. We have reserved a undersized
group of workmen for carrying out repairs to Navy
and Coast Guard Vessels at Chennai. A well maintained
work shop facility is available for training purpose. |

Also we have a provision
for storing bonded items in a separate room for procuring
Imported Spares for the ship. |

We
have carried out various types of ship repair works
as well as Ship Building projects since 2003 like
IAC-(INDIGENOUS AIR CRAFT CARRIER). Of the many contractors
that are there we are in the ‘A' category of
shipyard's list and among first 5 top contractors.
A 24x7 shift insures minimum don time for vessels
under repairs. From a small voyager repair to all
major repairs the workers performed efficiency &
competitive.

Rarefield have positioned a dedicated team consisting
of Engineers, Fabricators and Welders at Cochin Shipyard
Ltd (PSU) at Cochin . The welders are well experienced
and approved by class authorities like IRS,ABS, LRS
and DNV. We carry out repair works on various ships
allotted by CSL and also for Ship Building works as
our work force is well versed in fabrication and welding
technology. |

Tuticorin

As a big concern Rarefield marked its presence on 1st June 2005 at Tuticorin (centre for maritime trade) to cover a wide range of customers in this second largest port of Tamilnadu.
Here, we are the only D.G Approved ship repairing company undertaking all types of repairs in hydraulics like overhauling of steering gears, tug winches, rudderstock assembly, propellers (FPP & CPP) also air-conditioning equipments, navigational equipments, pneumatic systems, LSA, FFA, pipeline renewals, plate renewals (high tensile & mild steel) and last but not the least the structural fabrication works by the qualified welders certified by LRS,IRS,ABS, DNV & BV. |
Major works carried out for the tugboats owned by Tuticorin port trust – Pilot launch M.L.Tuticorin, Indian coast guard, tuticorin – ICGS Veera.
A team of Engineers visit the ships everyday attending all types of work during their halt at port. Our repair crew being available 24/7 for the vessels alongside berths and at roads provides the distant voyage principals a safe hub under any kind of their emergency situations. |

Rarefield opened a branch office at Vasco-Da- Gama
Goa on 11th July 2007. This office mainly deals with
overseas employment, collecting Resumes, dealing with
people and gives complete information regarding our
overseas project. Here we collect clients resume and
then we forward it to the head office at Chennai .After
submitting their resumes we send them for test at
our head office.
Rarefield gives Information to the
clients regarding Visa Processing, Visa Status and
flight date information through phone. Incase if they
are not available on phone then we send them telegram. |

To
cater the demands in the shipping trade, Rarefield
extended the business arena overseas and commenced
operations in 2006 starting from Dubai .
Our Engineers started it as In-house contractors under
the sponsorship of Dry-docks World Dubai-LLC
RAREFIELD ENGINEERS LLC, Dubai was established in 2008 by the Managing director of Rarefield Engineers Pvt Ltd, Chennai, India and Rarefield Engineers Pte. Ltd, Singapore.

The company entered the Singapore Marine Industrial Sector w.e.f in April 2008 as Rarefield Engineers Pte. Ltd. Rarefield at Singapore has an approval from Ministry of Manpower, Singapore to Operate an Employment Agency w.e.f 24.11.2008.
At Singapore the company has a well experienced workforce of 200 qualified Officers, Engineers, Supervisors, Foremen and Workers for Ship Conversion, Ship Building and Ship Repairing.
